David_BarnettPhidia is David Barnett, a Freelance Graphic Designer, Digital Artist and Illustrator based in Brighton.

Before coming to graphic design I studied visual language as an Architecture student, a Biological Psychology student and most recently through a Masters degree in Digital Media Arts.

My artwork has been based primarily on experimentation with composition, the Golden Ratio and measurable indicators of beauty which are all fundamentals of our common visual language.  For me, these mechanics of design are the key to understanding, criticising and creating.

Experimentation is an important part of any scientific approach and with design, subjective opinions are essential.  Any individual’s point of view is valuable to the design process and can contribute evidence towards a solution.

I am currently working as a freelance designer and welcome new projects, large or small.  Feel free to contact me for a quote.

“I hired David to be responsible for all graphic design for Liotru, including print and digital. We wanted to refresh our branding, whilst maintaining some of the strong visual language that was associated with the company. David produces high-quality work that includes our existing logos and design elements which he combines with his own work. The resulting pieces have a clean, contemporary feel. He has the ability to bring creative flair to commercial briefs, creating distinctive, eye-catching and clear design. I’m very pleased with the quality of work he produces, including posters, flyers, menus and business cards. I would highly recommend David to anyone looking for clean, versatile and beautiful design.
